Percy Lancaster is a North Western artist who born in Manchester in 1878. He studied and lived in Southport
He exhibited widely including twenty times at the Royal Academy. He is best known as a watercolour painter and etcher.
A prolific artist he is best known for landscapes, moorland scenes and his pictures of Dutch and French flower markets. He was also a very successful etcher.
His work is a rare example of a landscape artist who is equally at home with figures and human interest. His works can be signed in full or with the P & L monogram bottom right above.
