Albert Pollitt is a North Western artist who exhibited between 1885 & 1926. He painted in oils and watercolour and is known for his dramatic landscapes.
He lived in Manchester, Warrington and North Wales and most of his work is of this area.
He exhibited several times at the Walker Gallery Liverpool, and the Manchester City gallery. Coastal Scenes, especially those featuring blustery skies are also a common subject.
His style owes much to David Cox with its dramatic skies and signature birds. Many of his works use a distinctive autumnal palette of rich reds.
