Towers is a respected Lancashire artist. Bolton Art gallery held a major exhibition of his work in the 1983.

Watercolour and oil landscape painter from Bolton, Lancashire. He exhibited widely including the RA from 1884. He was elected to the Cambrian Academy in 1903. He lived for some years in Harvington Worcestershire.
