Robert Thorne WAITE RWS (1842-1935)
A highly regarded & accomplished artist. He was born in Cheltenham and studied at South Kensington and is known for his rural landscapes. He exhibited at all of the major galleries including 22 works at the Royal Academy & 496 as the RWS. His style is very much influenced by David Cox & his work often noted for its rich golden colours. Many of his subject are of the south coast and downs or Yorkshire. His work is held at the Victoria & Albert museum, Manchester Museum and other galleries.
